Enjoy the flavors of the culinary garden during the holidays with the "Autumn Garden" cocktail from Jeff Bareilles, Manresa's Wine and Beverage Director. Cheers!
1 1/2 ounce Hanger One vodka
1 ounce Calvados or your favorite apple brandy
1 ounce Autumn Infusion (see recipe below)
1 dash licorice bitters (Bob’s Licorice Bitters is the best)
• Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake for about 1 minute then strain into martini glass. Garnish with small thyme sprigs.
Autumn Infusion recipe:
235 grams water
120 grams sugar
15 grams marjoram
10 grams thyme
25 grams Italian parsley
• Combine the sugar and water in a pot over high heat. When the mixture boils, add the marjoram, thyme and parsley, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes. Strain and let cool. Reserve in the refrigerator for up to a week.
