Addresses We Like—The People and Places as Told by David Kinch

Mauro Colagreco and Restaurant Mirazur

At the end of May I traveled with a couple of team members to Menton on the Cote d’Azur to cook with my friend Mauro Colagreco. We’ve known each other for years and he asked me to come cook for the 10th anniversary of his restaurant, Mirazur. Of course, I said yes ... immediately.

We became fast friends more than ten years ago in a kitchen in Toulouse. We share a mutual love for gastronomy, the pleasures of the garden, a good time, and the similarities of the California Coast and Cote d’Azur. It’s been a privilege to cook with him at Manresa and all over the world and an honor to cook in celebration of this milestone with the Mirazur team.

Mirazur is one of our favorite tables in France, a colorful, flavorful delightful kitchen with all the aromas of the French Riviera. It is a restaurant to seek out not only for their great cuisine but an amazing view of the sparkling Mediterranean.

In celebrating their ten years, they invited ten chefs to participate in the yearlong festivities. Manresa was the first to kick off the anniversary. Mirazur has our highest recommendation and we are proud of our long-standing friendship and collaboration.

A New Favorite Hotel in Paris

The Hotel Marquis Faubourg Saint-Honoré is a beauty—a relatively new property that is also just celebrating its first year with Relais & Chateaux.

It occupies a place of exception within the luxurious Faubourg Saint-Honoré district in the intimate setting of an 18th century private mansion on the rue d’Anjou, the former home of the Marquis de La Fayette, This central location puts you in walking distance to landmarks such as the Louvre Museum, the best of luxury shopping, and some of the most prestigious gastronomic addresses in the Capital. Michele Bonan, the renowned architect and interior designer who lives and works in Florence, has been seduced by the beauty of the mansion and its ideal location in the center of Parisian chic.

Classic, yet contemporary in design, comfortable, warm and intimate, this boutique gem shows a stylish decor with respect to the history of the mansion. The result is a place of distinctive luxury with the unique atmosphere of a private home. We love it and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended.
