The Tomato Modernista Dinners 2008

When NBC's In Wine Country visited Love Apple Farm in 2006, their cameras followed David Kinch and Cynthia Sandberg as they were selecting tomatoes for perfect ripeness and flavor. From the farm in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the tomatoes went directly to Manresa just a short distance away for the ultimate farm-to-fork dining experience, the Tomato Modernista Dinner.

Each year, the Tomato Modernista Dinners grow in popularity, and this year's dinners are bigger and better than ever. With almost twelve years experience in the garden, Cynthia Sandberg is known nationally for her heirloom tomatoes, and grows hundreds of tomato varieties in the clean mountain air and summer sunshine of her biodynamic Love Apple Farm. Inspired by the colors and flavors of late-summer tomatoes, David Kinch will select nearly 65 varieties of fully sun-ripened tomatoes for the Tomato Modernista Dinners on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5. The eight-course dinners are $185 per person, exclusive of wine, tax, and gratuity. Open seating begins at 5:30 on Saturday, and 5:00 on Sunday. Wine pairings selected by Sommelier Jeff Bareilles will be available. Please call 408.354.4330 for reservations.
